How old are the barns?
Our barns date anywhere from the late 1700's to the early 1900's.

The price of a barn home is comparable to a timber frame home, a log home or a conventional custom home.

Barn frames offer a plethora of custom options. Opportunities exist that could not exist with any other style home.
Conventionally framed additions and alterations can be included.
Do you build the entire home?
We only build the frame of the home. We have great relationships with local contractors and can work with yours as well.
We can also install the barn's original siding, roof-boards or other accessories.
Do you work with architects and contractors?
We have great relationships with local contractors, architects, interior designers…etc. here in the Colorado Mountains.
We can also work with the contractor you have chosen.
How are barn homes insulated?
There are many options for insulation in barn homes. Conventional framing and insulation, Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs),
spray foam, straw-clay, straw bale and many other options work well in barn homes.

Barn homes smell just like any good home. We clean our frames thoroughly before the barn becomes a home.
How long will it take?
Once the foundation is ready and the frame is delivered, we can erect the barn within a week! This clearly saves a lot of time
compared to a conventionally framed or timber framed home.
Why a barn home instead of a new timber frame home?
Barn homes have a number of advantages: They are stylish and unique. They preserve and show a part of America's heritage, and
continue the American attribute of inventive intelligence. They are environmentally responsible since they re-use existing materials
instead of unnecessarily harvesting more wood. Our frames have withstood the test of time.
Can A&A Barn Homes turn a barn into anything else?
Yes! Barns make wonderful commercial buildings, show rooms, storage spaces, community centers or even...well...barns!
