How it Works
- A&A has an inventory of barns ready to undergo the "barn-to-home" process.
- We work directly with homeowners and/or general contractors to decide on the best barn for the homeowner's desires.
- Once the barn is chosen, we fully document and draw the layout of the standing barn and label each beam, post, brace and rafter. The barn is then systematically disassembled and prepared for delivery to the customer's new site.
- Preparation involves cleaning and inspecting each timber. Mortises and Tenons and all joints are thoroughly inspected. Any defective or potentially defective wood is replaced by a quality matching piece.
- The barn is packaged, covered and delivered to the new home site.
- Once the new foundation is ready, we can erect the frame in less than seven days.
- We can also provide the original siding, floor and roof boards, doors and hay trolley (often used for hanging chandeliers!) and many other parts from the original barn.
- The frame is now ready to be closed in and turned into a new, unique home.
